Our Vision
Our Vision
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Romans 15:13
We believe a life of faith begins with knowing and trusting God. As a church, we want to grow in our relationship with Him, build our lives on His truth, and follow His leading. Our vision is that everyone, from those who are brand new to the faith to those who have a lifetime in it, can learn to trust God on a deeper level.
We pursue this kind of Trust through three commitments:
Prayer: We seek His presence, bring our burdens to Him, and listen for His direction. Without prayer, how can we establish a relationship with Jesus? It is the most important commitment that we can make. (Philippians 4:6-7)
The Word: We build our lives on the truth of Scripture and allow it to guide our faith and practice. The Scriptures anchor our faith and beliefs, and we are committed to the Bible. (Psalm 119:105)
The Spirit: We walk in step with the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to transform us and empower us to be witnesses for Jesus. The Holy Spirit is central to the life of a believer and the church. (Galatians 5:25)
We believe the joy of the Lord is found in a life connected to Him and His people. At Hazel Green Church, we want to be a family where people experience the love of Christ, encourage one another, and make room for the rest and restoration that come from His presence. We strive to be a house that feels like home!
We pursue this kind of joy through three commitments:
Gratitude: We recognize God as the giver of every good gift and choose to cultivate thankfulness in every circumstance. Without gratitude, we become self-reliant. But with it, we learn to lean on God. (I Thessalonians 5:18)
Family: We belong to one another as the body of Christ, loving, serving, and welcoming others into the family of God. We are committed to ministry to every generation of the family and to a familial atmosphere. (Romans 12:10)
Rest: We make room for stillness and renewal in the presence of Jesus, trusting Him to restore our souls. Rest is not lazy, but we find rest in the person of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 11:28)
We believe the hope we receive through Jesus is never meant to stop with us. At Hazel Green Church, we want to be a people who allow God’s love and hope to flow outward through our service, our witness, and our continued growth in Christ. Our goal is that everyone who is a part of our church can belong to the mission of God!
We pursue this kind of hope through three commitments:
Service: We follow the example of Jesus by giving ourselves to serve others, especially those in need, and showing His love in practical ways. (Matthew 25:40
The Harvest: We look beyond ourselves to the people who need the hope of Christ, seeking opportunities to share the gospel and participate in God’s mission. (Matthew 9:37-38)
Growth: We commit to growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus, becoming more like Him and allowing God to use us in greater ways. God brings increase, and we never stop pursuing him. (II Peter 3:18)
